PA Health Insurance Navigator Program

The PA Health Insurance Navigator Program addresses the link between physical (medical) and financial health by linking regional credit counseling agencies in Pennsylvania with public health and other organizations to co-locate and integrate credit counseling and financial education services with health insurance education and enrollment services in Philadelphia, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, Pike and Wayne counties in Southeastern PA and Northeastern PA.

As of September 2017

 Pennsylvanians assisted
Educated on health insurance
 Enrolled in health insurance

The project offers free one-on-one assistance to consumers for health insurance enrollment in Medicaid, Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), or through the Health Insurance Marketplace. The project has certified and licensed Navigators help individuals and families find low-cost, affordable coverage for their health needs. Navigators attend local community events to provide outreach and education about different options for health insurance, as well as answer consumer questions about health insurance and accessing their health care. Navigators also provide educational workshops and presentations about health insurance eligibility, maintaining health insurance, and accessing health care.

The project was awarded to Public Health Management Corporation in September 2015. In addition to the National Nurse-Led Care Consortium the project is comprised of Health Promotion Council, Pennsylvania Health Access Network, Clarifi, and Consumer Credit Counseling Center Advantage of Northeastern PA.
